Improving the environment in Europe's cities

Four out of five of all Europeans live in towns and cities and the European Commission wants to help make our urban areas better places to live. Which is why it has just launched a Thematic Strategy on the Urban Environment. Filmed in january 2006, the report features efforts to improve the urban environment in the Slovenian capital Ljubljana and also in the Belgian capital Brussels. Car ownership has tripled in the past decade in Ljubljana.
