Living conditions in the camps
The prisoners were used to build and enlarge the camp, though they also had to do agricultural, mining and industrial work. (…) All they were given to eat was soup (...). After their work was over they were assembled for a roll call, and then they could go to their barracks to rest – though 200 prisoners were forced to sleep in spaces suitable for 40 or 50 people.
